Who develops ScreenNest
ScreenNest is a Chrome screen-recording extension developed and published by Sohidul Islam. This policy explains how the extension handles information and how to contact the developer.
What the extension handles
ScreenNest processes video from the screen, application window, or browser tab you explicitly select in Chrome’s sharing dialog. It processes microphone audio only when you enable Microphone and grant permission. It processes source audio only when enabled, shared, and supported by Chrome and your operating system.
Screen content may include personal or sensitive information visible in the area you choose. You decide what to capture and when to start, pause, resume, or stop.
Local storage and sharing
Recording chunks, creation dates, duration, file size, and capture type are saved in the extension’s local IndexedDB database. Your recording preferences are saved in local browser storage.
The extension does not upload recordings or transmit them to the developer. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party scripts. The developer does not sell or share your recordings. If you download a recording, Chrome saves the file to a location you or your browser settings choose. Sharing that file afterwards is your choice.
Retention, deletion, and recovery
Recordings remain in the local library until you delete them, remove the extension, or clear its browser data. Browser storage may also be removed by the browser or operating system. You can delete a recording in My recordings. Downloaded copies are separate files and must be deleted separately.
Saved chunks from interrupted sessions may appear as incomplete recordings. Recovery and playback are not guaranteed. Download important recordings and keep your own backup. The developer cannot access or restore your local recordings.
Permissions and your control
Chrome requests screen-sharing consent when you begin capture, and optional microphone/camera permission when needed. ScreenNest does not request installation-time access to all websites or your browsing history. Chrome and your operating system manage permission settings; you can revoke access there at any time.
This website and support emails
This privacy page does not access your recordings. This website is intended to be hosted on Vercel. Vercel’s hosting infrastructure may process technical request information, such as your IP address and browser request details, to deliver and protect the page. We have not added analytics, advertising, or a contact form. This website does not use cookies or browser storage in its own page code. Hosting infrastructure may use its own security mechanisms. Learn more in Vercel’s privacy policy.
If you email support, your and our email providers process the message. The developer uses the information you send to respond to your request and may retain the correspondence to follow up on the issue. You can request deletion of support correspondence by email, subject to any retention required by law. Please avoid sending recordings or sensitive information unless necessary.
Changes to this policy
When the extension’s data practices change, this page and the policy packaged with the extension will be updated. The effective date above identifies this version.
